Babysitting Coop

The Babysitting Co-op is a tremendous resource of “free” babysitting for our members. As we are all in the same situation, often desperate to get a few hours to ourselves, but having difficulty finding sitters or looking to cut back on going-out costs, the co-op offers a minimal investment of time and effort in exchange for babysitting.

Currently consisting of about 25 families, the co-op is an active group of moms (interested dads are welcome too) that exchange babysitting hours. When you sit for a member, you accumulate hours that you can then use to "pay" another parent in the group who is available when you need a sitter. This applies to both daytime and evening hours, weekdays and weekends.

While you are likely to get to know most of the other families through various social events, members also have the opportunity to get to know one another through bi-monthly play-and-meets set up specifically for the members participating in (or potential participants of) the babysitting co-op and/or playgroups.
